Albertson's offers benefits proposal to unions

A tentative agreement has been reached between Albertson’s and a negotiating committee representing employees in nine of the supermarket’s New Mexico locations.

A release from the United Food and Commercial Workers union said after five months of negotiations, Albertson’s sent an offer that provides increases in wages, health care benefits and pension protection.

Employees will vote between now and Dec. 10 to accept or reject the offer. The union represents about 1,000 employees in Clovis, Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Taos, Gallup, Roswell, Carlsbad, Silver City and Las Cruces locations.
