Serving Clovis, Portales and the Surrounding Communities
Father and son Caleb and Matt Chandler of Clovis have both been named to search committees for Governor-Elect Susana Martinez, according to releases from Martinez.
Matt Chandler, the current 9th Judicial District Attorney, is one of five selected for a transition committee charged with finding candidates for state public safety director and director of homeland security.
He ran an unsuccessful bid against Gary King for the office of attorney general.
Caleb Chandler, a former Clovis police chief and current Curry County commissioner, was one of five named to the department of corrections search committee.
According to releases from Martinez, the committees will work with former Rep. Heather Wilson, Martinez’ transition committee chair, to identify cabinet officials who will reflect Martinez’ respective commitments.
