The Clovis Quilters met Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church with 12 members attending and welcomed back past member Debra Williams.

Kathy Gilman called the meeting to order. A thank you note from Trinity Lutheran for the help with the VBS quilts was read. All three quilts won first place ribbons at the Curry County Fair. Upcoming quilt shows were discussed. Kathy shared ideas for using up scraps.

Amy Armenta demonstrated several ways to make a half-square triangle for the technique. Announcements were made about the upcoming guild meeting on Sept. 18. Elizabeth Lawrence will teach Fabulous Fractures. Sheryl Abdill presented the next two mystery blocks.

Show and tell items were shared, with several showing the charity quilts they had made.

Bonnie Barkley won six fat quarters.

The next meeting will be Oct. 11 with Jeanette Biddle being in charge.
