Two men have been charged in connection with a July 4 killing in Muleshoe but a grand jury has failed to return indictments in another deadly case.
Daniel Mendoza, 20, and Michael Garcia, 25, were indicted Monday by a Bailey County Jury in connection to the death of 19-year-old Rolando Sauceda.
Both men face felony first-degree murder charges, and 287th District Attorney Kathryn H. Gurley said the two face no other associated charges.
No charges were filed by the grand jury in the Aug. 13 death of Benny Martinez, and Gurley doesn’t expect charges to be filed unless new information comes forth.
No trial date has been set, but Gurley said a docket opening in November is the most likely scheduling.
