Zias drop pair — ENMU’s volleyball team won its first game on Friday, but it was downhill from there.
The Zias were beaten by Dallas Baptist 20-25, 25-23, 25-12, 25-17 and by St. Edward’s 25-16, 25-18, 25-17 in the Lady Buff Classic, hosted by West Texas A&M at Canyon, Texas.
It was the return to the coaching sidelines of Mike Maguire, who led the Zias’ program from 1987-2006 before relinquishing the position to concentrate on athletic director duties at the time.
Sophomore outside hitter Amber Durand had 20 kills and junior middle blocker Jessica King added 15 in the two matches for the Zias, who face Lubbock Christian and Western State (Colo.) today to finish play in the event.
