First NFL cutdown today

Tuesday is the first of two cut-down days this week for NFL teams.

Clovis native Hank Baskett, who rejoined the Eagles after spending a season with the Indianapolis Colts, is competing with five receivers for the final two receiver spots on the Philadelphia roster.

He has one catch for 5 yards in two preseason games. The Eagles play the New York Jets Thursday to close out preseason play.

Teams are required to cut down to a maximum of 75 players today, and pare the rosters down to 53 on Saturday.

Philadelphia opens its season Sept. 12 at home against Green Bay.
