General manager: Fair attendance up

More than 3,000 people attended the Curry County Fair this year than last, according to Curry County Events Center and Fairgrounds General Manager Kevin Jolley.

Jolley said 23,469 people purchased daily passes at the gate; up from 20,015 last year.

Jolley said the number doesn’t include weekly passes and those who attended the livestock show.

Jolley attributed the increase to higher quality entertainment this year. He said good weather, better entertainment and more activities helped draw more people to the fair.

This was the first year Global Spectrum ran the six-day fair.
