Aug. 24 — Police blotter

Recent calls to Roosevelt County Dispatch, according to police records:

Aug. 17

• At 6:33 a.m. officers responded to an auto burglary call in the 1300 block of South Avenue A. The caller stated both of his vehicles were broken into overnight, and it was not the first time. The caller said his .45 caliber double-barrel colt pistol and .380 ammunition were missing, along with two boxes of .45 caliber ammunition. The officer checked both vehicles. The gun was entered as stolen into the National Crime Information Center database.

Aug. 18

• At 4:25 p.m. officers took a report over the telephone in reference to credit card fraud. The man reporting had just left his wife, and was going to get a divorce. When the man was at their home on the 800 block of North Avenue K and began packing his bags to leave, he noticed his wife’s family was eating pizza. When the man stopped at a hotel while on his way to Wilmington, N.C., he noticed some unauthorized charges on his credit card, including a charge at Pizza Hut for $31. The wife admitted to using the card. A report was taken.

Aug. 20

• At 6:29 p.m. officers responded to Pizza Hut on North Chicago Street because someone left a pit bull puppy inside an unoccupied truck. Shortly after the officer arrived, he watched a man come out of the restaurant and retrieve the puppy. When the officer approached the man and asked for his name, the officer suspected the man was concealing his identity. After placing the man in handcuffs, the man revealed his true name and birth date. Officers found brass knuckles and a utility knife in the man’s pants pocket when they frisked him. The man was issued a citation for unlawful carrying of a deadly weapon, and was released.

• At 11:17 p.m., officers responded to the 700 block of west 17th Street for a domestic incident. Officers made contact with a female who said her family called police against her wishes. The female said she was with her boyfriend earlier in the day, and that he is married and his wife knows and accepts the extramarital affair. However, she said, her boyfriend doesn’t like the two women in the same place at the same time. So when they were driving around earlier in the day, the man saw his wife and became angry, slapping his girlfriend. The girlfriend said her boyfriend was high on methamphetamine at the time. No evidence of battery was found, and the case was cleared.

• At 11:48 p.m. officers responded to an unknown type of domestic incident at the 100 block of S. Boulder Street. When officers arrived they found two intoxicated females, one who appeared as if she urinated on herself. When one woman tried to stand up to talk to the officer, she fell down and began laughing. After she got up and was told to go sit down, the woman fell down again. That female was taken to the hospital. The officer concluded that neither woman could safely watch the two children that lived at the home, so the Children, Youth and Families Department was called, and the children were removed from the home.
