A man shot on Aug. 11 in Dora has died at a Lubbock hospital.

Authorities said Kenneth Glasscock, 44, died about 5 p.m. Tuesday from a single gunshot wound to the head. Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Deputy Malin Parker said officials do not know where Glasscock is from.

A news release from the sheriff’s office said the shooter has been identified but his name will not be released until forensic tests are completed.

No arrests have been made in the case.

Officials said they were called to the 500 block of Avenue D in Dora for a report of a gunshot victim on Aug. 11. They said the shooting stemmed from a physical altercation that took place between Glasscock and another man.

Glasscock was carrying an undisclosed weapon, police said.

When the unidentified man’s wife came out from the house with a gun and tried to break up the fight, police said Glasscock turned “as if to attack her.”

That’s when Glasscock was shot, officials said.
