The Curry County Fair begins Monday, promising a blend of traditional favorites and several new events.

The six-day long event will offer everything from animal shows and sales to crafts and baking, vendors, carnival games and rides and night-time concerts and entertainment events.

Carnival rides will open Monday at 6 p.m. adding an extra day of midway entertainment to this year’s fair.

And fairgoers can catch several nightly performances of Shenaniguns, a wild west comedy, in the midway area.

There are also about 10 new vendors who will be in the commercial barn and pavilion and pie baking, cookie jar decorating and salsa contests have been added to the line-up of contests this year.

Other new attractions this year include musicians Josh Abbott, the Logan Taylor Band, Tommy Irvin, Grupa Vida and Grammy Award winning tejano artist Little Jo.

And a popular chainsaw artist is returning as well as favorites such as arenacross.
