Wednesday morning briefing: Youth hunting, fine arts and American Graffiti

Good morning and welcome to the Freedom New Mexico Wednesday briefing.

Youth license

Thousands of licenses for youth-only elk hunts, deer and javelina are available from the state Department of Game and Fish.

More than 2,700 deer licenses and 430 javelina licenses left over from the regular drawing are scheduled to go on sale 10 a.m. today on the department website.

Online sales are on a first-come, first-served basis at www.wildlife.state.nm.us

Fine arts

Eastern New Mexico University has compiled its fine arts calendar for the coming semester.

The first scheduled event is a performance by acoustic singer and songwriter Travis Erwin at 7 p.m. Aug. 27 in the Music Building’s Buchanan Hall. Admission is free.
