• The search for the next dean for the Eastern New Mexico University College of Business is ongoing. Since Monday, Christopher Taylor has been filling the role of interim dean of the College of Business until a permanent hire is made.

• Manny Varela, professor of biology, has been notified he is a recipient of the New Mexico INBRE sequencing pilot project award. “The proposed work is not only promising from a molecular standpoint, but also important for infectious disease pathology and as a means for identifying new targets for chemotherapy,” Varela said.

• Sean Shepherd of ENMU’s Golden Library had his space junk concept published in Popular Science and National Geographic magazines and was a guest on Radio America.
