Recent calls to Roosevelt County Dispatch, according to call logs:

July 24

At 9:17 p.m. Portales Police responded to the 300 block of South Avenue I in reference to a domestic disturbance.

The first officer arrived and handcuffed a female and put her in his patrol car.

During interviews with witnesses and victims, officers were informed by the resident he had friends over partying, when his wife became angry. Witnesses said she was out of control for about an hour, so the husband called his wife’s stepfather.

The wife began hitting the husband in the face, and when the husband’s sister tried to stop her, she was punched in the face by the wife, causing her nose to bleed.

When the stepfather arrived to physically remove the wife, he was bitten in the chest. The wife was arrested for battery and battery on a household member. During the booking process at the jail, the wife was also charged with possession of marijuana under one ounce, and possession of drug paraphernalia. The husband was also arrested for an outstanding warrant.
