Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:
Around 2 a.m. July 1, an officer responded to a residence in the 1300 block of Walnut for a report of criminal damage.
A female resident told the officer someone had broken a window on her house about an hour prior.
She said she didn’t see who did it and couldn’t provide a description.
The officer documented the window had about a six-inch hole in it but he could not see anything that could have been used to cause the damage.
The officer noted his intent to return to the neighborhood at another time to talk with neighbors.

About 5 p.m. July 1, an officer responded to a residence in the 1100 block of Sheldon Street for a report of hit and run.
The officer observed there were vehicle tracks in the grass, the mailbox had been damaged and the corner of the home had been destroyed.
A witness said a vehicle with two women in it had struck the residence and fled the scene.
The officer was able to locate a vehicle fitting the description given by witnesses a few blocks away and noted it had damage consistent with the crash. The vehicle owner said another female had been using her vehicle that day.
The officer found the woman he was told had been driving it sleeping in a different vehicle in the alley nearby.
He noted she smelled of alcohol and was drooling as she slept. He documented that she had drywall dust in her hair and on her clothing and had bruising on her legs. Concerned the woman might have alcohol poisoning, the officer called for an ambulance and she was transported to the hospital where she was tested for alcohol levels in her blood.
Officers discovered the woman was driving on a suspended or revoked license and arrested her.

Around 9 a.m. July 2, an officer responded to a business in the 500 block of Fifth Street for a report of auto burglary.
A woman said nearly $500 was taken from her vehicle the night before while it was parked at her home in the 600 block of Kathie Drive.
The officer noted he did not see any damage to the vehicle and after speaking to several of the woman’s neighbors, was unable to gather any suspect information.

At an undisclosed time July 2, an officer responded to an office in the 2000 block of Grand Avenue for a report of child solicitation.
An administrator said he had received a report that a child had been solicited for sex from a tenant in a housing area he oversees.
The man gave the officer a written statement from a 10-year-old girl and her mother who said a female resident in her housing area had talked explicitly about different types of sexual activities and asked her if she wanted to learn how to do things.
In the statement from the child’s mother, the officer noted she said the suspect would invite neighborhood children into her house with offers of candy and then tell them how to perform sex acts and tell them they need to get money when they have sex.
The officer collected the written statements from the man.
