Freedom New Mexico

A Portales man faces felony charges after police say a raid at his home Thursday netted a “substantial quantity” of cocaine.

According to a press release from the Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office, deputies from Roosevelt County, Curry County, and the Clovis Police Department executed a narcotics search warrant in the 200 block of South Avenue G in Portales and arrested 21-year-old Eleno Bustamante.

Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Malin Parker declined to disclose the exact amount of cocaine confiscated, citing an ongoing investigation.

Bustamante is charged with trafficking cocaine, a second-degree felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor.

Bustamante was being held Friday on a $50,000 cash-only bond at the Roosevelt County Detention Center.

According to the press release, additional arrests are anticipated in the upcoming week.
