School board members expect to choose superintendent next week

The Clovis Municipal Schools board of education expects to select a new superintendent next week.

The board met in executive session for two and a half hours Wednesday night to interview the second of two finalists.

President Mark Lansford said the board will meet in closed executive session next Wednesday and anticipates that the board will announce the new superintendent at that time.

Mount Pleasant (Texas) Independent School District Superintendent Terry Myers was interviewed for a second time Wednesday. Wichita Falls (Texas) Independent School District Assistant Superintendent Tim Powers had his second interview Monday.

The new superintendent will replace Rhonda Seidenwurm, who announced in January that June 30 would be her last day with the district after five years.

Lansford said the time of next week’s meeting hasn’t been set yet but the board will meet in the CMS administration office board room.
