Has there been a change in law regarding running red lights?
Public shouldn’t ignore red lights
I ask because quite frequently I see individuals run the light at Prince and 21st streets. Specifically, at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, I saw three vehicles run a red light in front of a Clovis police officer who did nothing.
This is not uncommon. I’ve seen people run the red light there several times, yet the police don’t take action. I’d like to know why.
This is the busiest intersection — and I might add most dangerous — in Clovis. If people are allowed to run the red light there and not be reprimanded, one might begin to ponder: “Why do I have to adhere to laws if others do not?”
This is unsafe and I feel shows a sad lacking in attention to doing a job.
People get tickets for far less. My husband, for instance, several years ago, was pulled over in his driveway at 2 a.m. and given a ticket for not wearing a seatbelt.

If police are going to give tickets to people in their driveways for not wearing a seatbelt, why then won’t they give tickets to individuals who run red lights at busy intersections at midday?
