Ticket feature: Events center hosting dog agility trials

The upcoming Stars and Stripes AKC Dog Agility Trial is sure to be entertaining.

Scheduled June 18, 19 and 20 at the Curry County Events Center, the trial will be three days of non-stop competition for dogs from numerous surrounding states.

More than 300 dogs are expected to compete daily, with dogs in the excellent class starting the day at 8 a.m., moving to intermediate and novice classes throughout the day and ending around 4 p.m.

Hosted by the Clovis-Portales Kennel Club, admission to the event is free to the public, concessions will be sold and vendors will be on hand selling dog goods.

The competition, an AKC-sanctioned, all-breed and mixed-breed trial, will feature the best dogs in the nation, according to a press release.

The event, “will be great fun for the entire family,” the release said.
