Ticket feature: Our Lady of Guadalupe fiesta gearing up
Freedom New Mexico
This weekend’s Fiesta at Our Lady of Guadalupe is sure to entertain all ages in a variety of ways.
Kicking off Friday night, the three-day festival is a more than 30-year tradition for the church at 108 Davis St.
Organizer Chris Roy said activities will begin with a brisket dinner at 5:30 p.m. Friday at $7 for adults, $4 for children 10 and under, followed by a variety show at 7 p.m.
The variety show will include music, singing and skits, Roy said.
Saturday and Sunday, starting at 11 a.m., the church will host a garage sale. There will also be food vendors, games and information booths from community services on hand along with live bands playing a mix of Christian, country and Hispanic music.
There will also be an antique car show.
Roy said from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday night — $5 per couple, $3 for individuals — there will be a street dance and Sunday night at 7 p.m. the church will hold Bingo games at the Knights of Columbus Hall on east 21st Street.
Throughout the weekend there will also be raffles with cash prizes, a silent auction and other activities.
“It is very family oriented,” Roy said.
Roy said the festival serves as a fundraiser to help with church upkeep and to support church programs throughout the year.
