Zias' Mayo Otis named to ESPN the Magazine squad

Eastern New Mexico University senior Alex Mayo Otis was selected to the third team of ESPN the Magazine’s Academic All-American squad.

To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must maintain a grade point average of 3.3 or higher, play in at least of the team’s contests and been on the team or at least one year.

Mayo Otis leaves ENMU as the all-time hits leader (275) with the fifth-highest batting average (.399) with just 20 strikeouts in her four years.

She is the second Zia softball player to be named to the team, joining 2009 selection Tracy Jordan.
