Police blotter — May 12

Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:

About 7 p.m. April 25 officers responded to a residence in the 1300 block of North Prince Street for a report of an attempted suicide.

Dispatch told the officers a woman had reportedly stabbed herself in the abdomen.

The officers made contact with a female and noted she did not appear injured.

The woman told them she was drinking and got into an argument with her boyfriend and he told her he was going to leave her. She showed an officer a half-inch wound in her stomach.

Officers had the woman transported to the hospital for evaluation.

Around noon April 26 an officer was contacted by a child services worker.

The case worker said she was called to the hospital emergency room regarding a 3-year-old girl with a skull fracture.

She said she interviewed the child’s mother, who said two days before she had left her two children with her boyfriend while she was at work and he had called and told her she needed to come home because her daughter was hurt.

She said the mother told her he said the child had been jumping on the bed while he was in another room and fell and passed out. When her daughter started vomiting, she said she became concerned and took her to the hospital.

The case worker told the officer she had interviewed the other child in the home, who said he was afraid of his mother’s boyfriend and he would swing his sister around by her feet.

The case worker told the officer she had advised the boyfriend to stay away from the children until the investigation was concluded.

Around 10 p.m. April 27 an officer responded to train tracks near the Hull Street overpass for a report of trespassers.

A railroad employee reported four trespassers were in an engine.

The officer climbed into the engine and saw two males and two females, who he instructed to move outside so he could talk to them.

The four told the officer they were coming from Texas and were taking the train to Phoenix.

The officer arrested them for trespassing and called animal control to take custody of three dogs that were traveling with them.

About 3 p.m. April 28 an officer responded to Lockwood Elementary School in the 400 block of Lockwood Drive for a report of drugs.

A school administrator gave the officers a baggy of marijuana, a lighter and rolling papers he said were found in the boy’s restroom.

The officer noted the items were placed into evidence to be destroyed.
