Grand Club

Barry Elementary student Sterling Barth, 6, is getting a Grand Club Relay For Life T-shirt 6 p.m. today at opening ceremonies in Ned Houk Park.

Sterling was watching a home makeover program earlier this year featuring a cancer survivor and Relay For Life.

He noticed someone wearing a red shirt for volunteers who raised more than $1,000 and decided he would earn one.

Sterling did yard work and got some help from the City of Clovis Parks Department, who hired him for a day.

Sterling earned more than $1,000 by last week.
