Students awarded scholarships

Five area students were awarded the Daniels Fund Scholarships, according to a news release.

Seniors Jerome Anaya and Anica Chairez of Clovis High School, Michael Marez and Hector Zambrano of Fort Sumner High School and Samuel Lawrence of Melrose High School were each awarded a scholarship.

Nominated students take part in an interview and selection process.

After other financial aid resources have been applied, the Daniels Scholarship covers all required tuition and fees, room and board, books and supplies and a variety of other miscellaneous expenses. Students also receive a laptop computer and a printer.
