Melrose council fills vacant slot

Freedom New Mexico

The city of Melrose selected C.C. Pyle Thursday night to fill its vacant village council position.

Pyle, a retired Clovis police captain and the father of former Melrose Mayor Lance Pyle, was chosen by Mayor Tuck Monk from a field of four applicants.

Monk said Pyle’s dedication to the village over the years swung his decision.

“All of them were well qualified and would be excellent choices. C.C. Pyle, in the past, has done more for cleaning old junk cars and trash out of Melrose than anyone I ever knew of.”

Monk previously held the position. It became open when he was elected mayor.
