Hard work is the American way

After reading Karen Black’s letter in the March 30 CNJ regarding the health care bill, it is apparent that ignorance of the truth is still bliss. She should be outraged, not overjoyed, that this travesty ever made its way into law. Not to worry, I’m here to help her with the facts.

First, the bill has nothing to do with health-care reform. It is the most economically devastating and freedom-grabbing piece of legislation we have yet to witness and is just another step in the socialist agenda to achieve complete government control of every aspect of our lives by the most corrupt president and Congress in this nation’s history. The manner in which it was passed is reprehensible and completely unconstitutional.

For her further enlightenment, the “money being thrown at our senators and representatives” was taxpayer money thrown at the Democratic Party and its bizarre group of constituents by Obama, Reid and Pelosi.

Lastly, one of the most despicable aspects of it is they exempted themselves, their staffers from being subjected to it.

Black doesn’t seem to realize the largest “cost” to the American people is the cost of their government, and that was before the passage of this atrocity.

This “gimme” mentality, sowed by Franklin Delano Roosevelt and cultivated through the decades by the likes of Ben Ray Lujan and the rest of the Democrat party, increasingly deludes a disturbing percentage of our population.

What these people should be exercising and teaching their children is work ethic, self-reliance and personal responsibility — the American way.

The first step to overcoming dependence on others by Black and other like-thinking people can be summed up with a quote from Ronald Reagan:

“Government is not the solution to our problems. Government is the problem.”
