Parent-youth summit set
The Curry County Wellness Council is hosting a Stay Teen Parent-Youth Summit April 10.
The event is aimed at parents and teens in seventh through ninth grades. Andrea Bell with the council said this is the 11th annual summit.
This year, parents and students will attend separate presentations on the same subjects. Presentations will cover Internet safety, teen dating violence, substance abuse, self image and etiquette, Bell said.
Dallas Jessup, creator of the Just Yell Fire self defense program, will speak at the event.
Dinner will follow the presentations. Check in is from noon to 1 p.m., presentations from 1 p.m.-5 p.m. and dinner is at 6 p.m. April 10 and Clovis Community College. The event is free.
