Name: Kathleen “Kathy” Salter
Occupation: Retired Eastern New Mexico University math professor
Volunteer work: Salter works on buildings and serves as board of directors vice president for Habitat for Humanity of Roosevelt and Curry Counties. She has been the treasurer of the University Friends of Music for close to 20 years, and a scorer at ENMU basketball games since the 1970s. She also tutors in math.
Why she does it: “Mostly because I like to, and I want to keep busy.”
Salter said she likes scoring because of the numbers and Habitat because it’s a good cause. She appreciates Friends of Music because she enjoys the concerts and the group needed her.
