Wednesday morning briefing: St. Pat's wishes, life at Eastern and milk does NM good

Good morning and Happy St. Patrick’s Day.

It’s Freedom New Mexico’s Wednesday briefing.

Blessings of the green type

It’s a special day so let’s start it off with an old Irish blessing:

“May the best day of your past, be the worst day of your future.”

Life at Eastern

Clayton Carrell, a freshman from Abilene, Texas, has been shooting and editing a series of videos about ENMU for Communication Services and uploading them to ENMU’s YouTube Channel and ENMU’s official Facebook pages.

Videos are available at http://www.youtube.com/enmu.

Question of the day

If you could have any business come to Clovis, what would it be?

Web site of the day

It’s National Agriculture Week and here’s a tidbit of local interest:

Milk is the number one cash commodity for New Mexico, producing more than $1.36 billion last year.

Here’s a Web page with some other facts that detail just how important the industry is to the state and eastern New Mexico in particular:

This day in history

On this day in 461 A.D., Saint Patrick, Christian missionary, bishop and apostle of Ireland, died at Saul, Downpatrick, Ireland.

Since that time, countless legends have grown up around Patrick.

Made the patron saint of Ireland, he is said to have baptized hundreds of people on a single day, and to have used a three-leaf clover — the famous shamrock — to describe the Holy Trinity.
