Help for veterans available

Veteran Service Officer George Vargas of the New Mexico Department of Veteran Services is available to help current and former service members, their families and their surviving spouses 9:30 a.m. to 3 or 4 p.m. every other Thursday at the Portales Senior Center at 501 N Industrial Drive. His next visit is set for March 25.

Vargas can help veterans connect with benefits and services and complete paperwork. They need to bring their DD-214 military history forms.
