March 8, 1960: The Portales News-Tribune reported on two lost dogs. Jane Lee’s “small, brown dog” would answer to the name of “Mim” if located. The Rev. Grady McCullough was looking for a “fuzzy puppy” the paper said he “claims is a cross between a Chihuahua and a collie.” The front-page story provided phone numbers of the owners.
