Woman sustains minor injuries after collision

Freedom New Mexico

A 30-year-old woman suffered minor injuries Friday when the sport-utility vehicle she was driving smashed into the rear of a semitrailer on U.S. 70 near the Curry-Roosevelt county line, according to Roosevelt County Sheriff Darren Hooker. The sheriff said the woman, Marie McClure, told officers she was talking on a cellular phone when she rammed the truck, which was stopped to turn. Police blocked the south-bound lane of U.S. 70 and had two-way traffic in the northbound lanes for about 30 minutes, Hooker said.
