A Bovina man died in a two-car collision Saturday at Sugar Beet Road and 21st Street.
According to a release from the New Mexico State police, 74-year-old Don Teague of Bovina was eastbound on 21st Street, also known as State Road 523, at approximately 1:35 p.m. in a 1996 GMC truck.
Teague’s vehicle collided with a 1986 Oldsmobile driven by Hanna Godwin, 19, of Clovis.
According to police, the Oldsmobile failed to yield right of way at the stop sign and was struck in the right side by Teague’s truck.
Teague was pronounced dead at the scene.
Godwin and a 7-year-old passenger in Teague’s truck were transported to Plains Regional Medical Center.
Another passenger, Isaac Godwin, 22, of Clovis, was airlifted to University Medical Center in Lubbock, where he was in critical condition.
No citations or charges were filed as of Saturday.
