• Bonnie Ballard, a former graduate student in Communicative Disorders, and Phillip Million, a professor of Communicative Disorders, presented a paper, “An Assessment of the Efficacy of Critical Listening Skills in the Hearing-Impaired,” at the 2009 annual meeting of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association in November in New Orleans.

• On Jan. 23 at The Symposium on the History of Fine Arts and Social Science in Medieval Times, hosted by the Red Wolf Medieval Guild of Arkansas State University, Antony Oldknow of Languages and Literature gave a presentation titled “Beowulf and History: Directed Deconstruction in Translating the Poem without Masking Its Function as a Socio-Political Tool for a Mercia Threatened by Civil War and Invasion.”

• Professor of Special Education Michael Shaughnessy and S. Fulgham of West Texas A&M have two papers published in the January-February 2010 issue of Educational Technology.
