Eastern New Mexico University has added four players, including Class 5A’s leading scorer, to its women’s soccer roster for next year.

Carlsbad forward Melissa Marshall, who scored 95 goals in her career and led 5A with 31 last season, will join the Zias along with midfielder-defender Gerilyn Armijo of Las Cruces, forward Maurisa Jones of Estrella Foothills High in Goodyear, Ariz., and forward-midfielder Sydney Tucker of Redmond High, Ore.

“We are extremely pleased to announce this outstanding group of young women who will be joining the ENMU women’s soccer family next fall,” Zias coach Ray Nause said. “The list of accomplishments for these players on the field, in the classroom and in the community is impressive. We can’t wait to see what these players will accomplish here at ENMU.”

Jones led Estrella Foothills to an Arizona state championship and led the team in scoring her junior year, while Tucker was named conference offensive player of the year as a senior and first team all-league twice.
