Last outing: The Greyhounds lost at home on Saturday to Angelo State 92-88. The Buffaloes lost at Angelo State 84-78 last Wednesday.

Notes: Both teams started South play with wins over Abilene Christian and Texas A&M-Kingsville, and have subsequently lost to Tarleton State, Midwestern State and Angelo State. They meet again on Saturday at Canyon, Texas. … The Buffs have won the last 10 meetings since ENMU swept the 2003-04 season series en route to defending its LSC South title. The year before, the Hounds went 11-1 in the division with the only loss at WT. … The Buffs won last year’s matchups, 69-47 at Canyon and 73-52 at Portales. … The guard-oriented Buffs are led by 6-3 junior G Joe Mincey (12.9 ppg), 6-2 junior G LaDarius Hall (12.4 ppg) and 6-1 senior G Nick Burns (12.2 ppg). … Coach Rick Cooper, now in his 17th season at WT, has never had a losing season at the school. He is the program’s all-time winningest coach (322-160). … The Buffs recovered from a 1-3 start to win eight of nine, but have since gone 2-5. They are 8-1 at home, but 3-8 on the road and on neutral courts.
