Press release: Nelson, Altheide selected ENMUSports.com student athletes of week

PORTALES, N.M.—The Eastern New Mexico University basketball teams continued their LSC South schedules last week, with both the Zias and Greyhounds dropping last-minute heartbreakers to Angelo State.

Reggie Nelson (Jr., G, Tyler, Texas/Tyler JC) recorded the Greyhounds' first 30-point game since Justin Redman Trotter accomplished the feat two seasons ago at West Texas A&M. He finished with a career-best 31 points, connecting on eight of his 17 shots from the floor and an incredible 13 of his 14 attempts from the free throw line. Nelson also dished out five assists, while committing just one turnover. His performance helped ENMU rally from a 13-point deficit and seize a lead late in the game.

Hannah Altheide (Jr., F, El Paso, Texas/Chapin HS) exploded for a career-best 13 points against Angelo State, connecting on four of her five three-point attempts.
