Last outing: ENMU lost on Saturday at Northeastern State 72-60. Abilene Christian posted its first road win of the season (1-4) with an 86-79 victory over East Central at Ada, Okla.

Notes: The Greyhounds have lost five in a row. Meantime, the Wildcats have won three of their last four after dropping five straight. … Eddie Thompson, a 6-foot-3 junior G, leads ACU in scoring at 13.8 ppg while 6-4 junior F Marcus Washington, who didn’t play in ACU’s first eight games, is averaging 10.4 ppg since coming back. … Thompson is shooting 91 percent (20-of-22) and Washington 84 percent (26-for-31) from the free throw line, but as a team the Wildcats are under 64 percent on charity tosses. … Thompson is the team’s main threat from 3-point range, although he’s shooting a modest 32 percent (43-of-133). … Abilene Christian won both meetings last season, 68-58 in Abilene and 71-65 at Greyhound Arena.

Notes: ACU has played the role of road warriors this season, going 7-1 away from Abilene and 3-4 in home and neutral games. … The Wildcats had a big win on Thursday with a 91-87 verdict at Southeastern Oklahoma (10-3). … Twin sisters Jamie and Jody Meyer, both 6-0 senior Fs, are ACU’s leaders. Jamie Meyer ranks second in the LSC and sixth in NCAA Division II in scoring (21.2 ppg) and averages 7.8 rebounds, while Jody Meyer is fourth in the conference in scoring (15.9 ppg) and first in rebounding (11.6 rpg). ACU is outrebounding its opponents 43-34 on average. … Either Jamie Meyer or Jody Meyer has led the Wildcats in scoring in every game this season, and one or the other has led in rebounding in all but one game. Both average around 35 minutes a night. … Last season, the Wildcats beat the Zias 73-65 in Abilene and 85-70 at Greyhound Arena.
