Last outing: The Greyhounds lost at Central Oklahoma 105-76 on Thursday, while the RiverHawks won at home over West Texas A&M 69-62.

Notes: While ENMU has dropped five in a row and eight of nine, Northeastern has won five of its last seven outings. … First-year ENMU men’s coach Andrew Helton is from the same home town (Marion, Ohio) as Northeastern men’s coach Larry Gipson and his brother, NSU women’s coach Randy Gipson. “I did not know him when I was in Marion, he’s (younger) than I am,” Larry Gipson said of Helton on NSU’s website. “He was in high school when I was at Toledo (University) coaching, but he came to our camp a couple of times.” … Larry Gipson won his 500th game as a college coach earlier this season. … Four RiverHawks average in double figures, led by 6-8 senior C Jason Jones (16.9 ppg). He also averages a team-best 9.3 rebounds, and had a double-double in Thursday’s win (19 points, 10 rebounds). … NSU is No. 2 in the LSC and No. 4 in NCAA Division II in scoring defense (58.5 ppg). … The RiverHawks won last year’s meeting at Greyhound Arena 71-58.

Last outing: The Zias lost on Thursday at Central Oklahoma 87-75 after falling behind 18-0. Northeastern State dropped a 62-55 decision at home to No. 12 West Texas A&M, which scored the final nine points of the contest to erase a two-point deficit with 1:40 left.

Notes: Despite Thursday’s loss, ENMU is 3-3 on the road this season, compared to 1-5 at Greyhound Arena. … NSU’s only double-figure scorer and rebounding leader is 5-11 junior F Jasmine Webb (10.3 ppg, 5.3 rpg), but the Lady Buffs held her to six points on Thursday. Alix Perkins, a 5-8 sophomore G, tried to pick up the slack with 19 points and seven boards. … Thursday’s loss snapped NSU’s four-game winning streak. … The RiverHawks are holding opponents to 54.1 ppg. … Northeastern State beat the Zias 78-51 last season at Portales.
