Embroidery tips featured on show

Information on using stabilizers when doing embroidery, refinishing outdoor furniture and ways to deal with difficult people will be the featured topics on “Creative Living” at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday and noon Thursday.

Patsy Shields represents RNK Distributing and Floriani Stabilizers, and she will show how to use stabilizers and a soldering iron or stencil burner to create dimensional embroidery. She lives in Sellersburg, Ind.

Bruce Johnson is going to show how to make your backyard living space your own private retreat. He’ll demonstrate how to protect the life of outdoor furniture and how to make a weathered deck look like new again. Johnson is the spokesperson for Minwax, located in Upper Saddle River, N.J.

Ruth St. Pierre, whose company is Creative Business Resources, says we can “become a CPA” and learn to deal with difficult people, and she’ll explain what she means by that. St. Pierre is from Pleasant Valley, Mo.

Information on planning weddings and feng shui will be the featured topics on “Creative Living” at noon Tuesday and 2 p.m. Saturday.

According to wedding specialist Melissa Widner, it’s not that difficult to have a perfect wedding — if you start early and “cover all bases,” which is what a wedding specialist can help with.

She’ll talk about resource books, invitations, accessories and other “sometimes-forgotten items” for a wedding. She’s from Friona, Texas.

Lorelei Taylor explains that the Asian influence is evident in everything from fashion to fusion cooking to feng shui. She’ll discuss feng shui and show examples of the different elements. She’s from Portales.
