Serving Clovis, Portales and the Surrounding Communities
Seniors with farmers’ market vouchers are running out of time to use them.
Heidi Liedtke with the New Mexico Farmers’ Marketing Association said while the vouchers expire on Nov. 15, Clovis and Portales farmers’ markets will close the last week of October.
Liedtke said about 65 percent of the vouchers have been used across the state and the association doesn’t want seniors in the area waiting until the last minute, finding that the markets are closed for the season.
The vouchers are part of a commodity supplemental food program for low income seniors.
