Weather service posts freeze warning

Freedom New Mexico

Baby, it’s cold outside.

Unseasonably cold, according to the National Weather Service, which posted a freeze warning from 9 p.m. Saturday night until 10 a.m. today for Curry and Roosevelt counties.

Temperatures overnight were expected to bottom out at 29 degrees. But the wind chill from strong northeast winds of 20 to 30 m.p.h. made it feel like 19 degrees outside.

The Weather Service said the good news is winds are expected to shift to the south later today, warming things back up to a high of about 62 degrees.
