Education digest: CHS marching band receives high honors

The Clovis High School marching band was named Grand Champion at the Tumbleweed Marching Festival in Denver City, Texas, this past Saturday.

The band also won Best in Class, Best Percussion, Best Color Guard, Best Drum Majors and Best Soloist.

This is the third year in a row the band was named Grand Champion and the eighth time in nine years that the band swept the competition.

The competition season continues this weekend at the Bands of America competition in Arlington, Texas.
