Two Zias named to all-tournament team

Sophomore middle blocker Jessica King and senior outside hitter-setter Veronica Valdez-Kent represented Eastern New Mexico University on the all-tournament team for last weekend’s ENMU Invitational at Greyhound Arena.

Valdez-Kent had 38 kills, 43 assists, 21 digs and 14 blocks while King recorded 33 digs and four aces. The Zias posted a 1-2 mark in the event.

Others named to the 12-player squad were outside hitters Lilian Rezend and Lydia Karnopp and setter Whitney Liggett of Fort Hays State; Outside hitters Hannah Zimmerman and Kelli Sicner and middle blocker Allison Smith of Missouri Western; middle blocker Bernadette Pitre and libero Ashley Michel of Colorado State-Pueblo; outside hitter Meredith Powell of Oklahoma Panhandle State, and middle blocker Dominique Benton of New Mexico Highlands.
