Police blotter — Sept. 6

Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:

Around midnight Aug. 22 an officer responded to a bar in the 2800 block of West Grand for a report of violent person.

The bartender said a woman was intoxicated and had threatened to shoot her. She asked the officer to issue a no trespass order preventing her from returning.

The officer asked the suspect her name and filled out the no trespass order, asking her to sign it in acknowledgment.

The woman signed the order with a different name than the one she gave the officer. When confronted, admitted she had lied about her name.

The officer arrested her for concealing her identity.

While on the way to the jail, the woman told him she had just been released from jail.

A judge was contacted and her bond was revoked because she had violated by drinking alcohol.

At an unspecified time Aug. 24 an officer observed several juveniles in the back yard of an abandoned house in the 900 block of Harvard.

When the officer stopped, all but one ran from the yard.

The officer discovered there were two outstanding warrants for the 16-year-old’s arrest and transported him to the juvenile detention center.

About 10 p.m. Aug. 24 an officer responded to a report of a crash at a restaurant in the 800 block of 21st Street.

A witness said he saw an elderly man drive his vehicle over the curb and crash into a grease container, flinging grease all over his vehicle.

The officer spoke to the 82-year-old driver, who said he had consumed half a pint of whiskey about 20 minutes prior to the crash.

The officer was unable to administer a complete battery of sobriety tests because the man depended on a cane to walk. The man did not successfully complete the tests that were given and was arrested for DWI and cited for six traffic violations.

Around 2 p.m. Aug. 25 an officer on duty at a school in the 1400 block of Cameo Street heard a teacher call for help in the hallway.

The officer located the teacher and noted she was trying to restrain a male student.

The officer took control of the youth and escorted him to the office.

The 15-year-old said he and another boy were in a fight.

The officer took statements from both boys and noted intent to forward his report to juvenile authorities.
