Former state Rep. Brian K. Moore, R-Clayton, has set his sights on the lieutenant governor’s office.
Moore, who last year opted not to run for re-election for his District 67 seat, announced his bid on Tuesday.
“As a small businessman myself, I understand how challenging it is right now for people and small businesses all over the state,” Moore said in a release. “After serving rural New Mexico for eight years in the New Mexico Legislature, I know how important it is to get out and listen to people who really understand the issues.”
Moore and his wife Linda own and operate the Clayton Ranch Market grocery store.
His previous House seat is now held by Tucumcari Republican Dennis Roch.
