Police blotter — Sept. 3

Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers:

Noon Aug. 18 an officer responded to a residence in the 3000 block of Holmberg for a domestic dispute.

A man said he and his wife were arguing and she threw Gatorade at him, then hit him in the mouth with the bottle.

The officer noted the man had a laceration above his lip.

The woman said she was trying to leave and her husband wouldn’t let her. She threw the Gatorade in his face, but she said she did not know how he got the cut near his mouth.

The woman was arrested for aggravated battery of a household member.

About 9 p.m. Aug. 19 an officer responded to a residence in the 900 block of Fourth Street for a battery in progress.

A woman said her boyfriend was drinking with her. When she told him to leave, he got angry and beat her in the back of the head with her walking cane.

The officer noted she was holding a towel to the back of her head to soak up blood.

The 50-year-old man was arrested for battery of a household member.

About 5 p.m. Aug. 19 an officer responded to a residence in the 1000 block of Davis for an aggravated assault.

A man said a person visiting a neighbor blocked his driveway. He said when he asked the man to move, he began to yell and cuss at him.

He said the man then pulled a handgun and pointed it at him before driving off.

The officer spoke with the woman who lived next door but she was only able to give him the man’s first name.

Around 8 a.m. Aug. 21 an officer responded to an undisclosed residence for a burglary.

A teenage girl told the officer she was in bed asleep and heard the volume on the TV turned up.

She said she went into the living room and found the TV on a pay-per-view movie, the front door was opened and one of the dogs was outside.

Nothing was disturbed and nothing was missing from the residence.
