The largest turnout of football players in the history of the university arrived on campus at Eastern New Mexico University Aug. 30, when 98 prospective Greyhounds arrived for the beginning of fall practice, according to the Portales News-Tribune. Jack Scott, new head coach at ENMU, said he was extremely pleased at the large turnout. The previous year Eastern had 65 players report for the start of fall practice.
