The Portales Tribune reported hail damages to crops the previous Saturday west of Portales. The main blunt of the storm fell in the vicinity of the Tom Terry farm. Terry reported that 15 acres of his cotton were stripped of foliage and bolls. He also reported considerable damage to his sweet potato crop.
