USDA schedules conservation meeting

The U.S. Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service is signing up agriculture producers for its new Conservation Stewardship Program.

A public information meeting about the program is scheduled for 10 a.m. Sept. 4 in the North Annex of the Clovis-Carver Public Library.

The program encourages conservation practices in agriculture and forestry. The first cutoff for ranking is set for Sept. 30.

This year, all areas are eligible under the new CSP and producers can receive annual or supplemental payments.
