Name: Tawnalei Tagaloa

Position: Server/trainer at Pizza Hut

Background: I am from California. I was born and raised in Orange County. I came to Portales in 2007 to play softball for Eastern New Mexico University. I am currently working on my degree at ENMU, majoring in sociology and psychology.

Time on Job: I started here in February.

What does your job entail? I serve customers. Our motto is “Love all, Serve all.” So our priority is to make our customers feel comfortable while they enjoy their pizza. I answer phones and train other servers.

Why did you choose this job? Obviously everyone needs a job while they are going through school. I knew that I wanted to serve people because it is something that I really enjoy doing. I looked around and found this job.

What type of training, if any, is needed for this job? Well, they have a three-step interview process that includes the training. Pizza Hut does not just give out jobs! They base it on your experience, your personality and your willingness to work.

What do you enjoy most about this job? This is a really open environment and a wonderful staff. I really enjoy the employees here. You don’t always find a job where you actually get along with everyone you work with. I work under the best management, and I really just enjoy my job.

What do you do when you are not working? I actually like a lot of the servers here, and we have become close friends. We enjoy hanging out with each other even when we aren’t working.
